100 Series - Beginner Pickleball
Series Description: New and inexperienced players will participate in fun drills and instructor guided games to learn basic pickleball shots and strategies. Instructors will demonstrate drills that can be done outside of class to enhance skill development. Although all classes are not required, taking them in all in sequence for improves your chances of success.
Class: Pickleball 101
Focus: Intro to Pickleball fundamentals
This course covers:
1) Brief review of scoring and rules
2) Correct ball striking location and proper paddle positioning
3) Basic forehand and backhand strokes
4) Basic gameplay and strategy
5) Instructor guided drills/games with individual constructive critique

Focus: Playing at the kitchen (Non volley zone)
This course covers:
1) Fundamental dinking technique and footwork

1) Blocking at the non-Volley Zone and transition zone

Pickleball 200 Series
Course Description: Players who enroll in this course will continue to develop the fundamental skills learned in the 100 series (or from previous playing experience). Subsequent sessions are aimed at incorporating skills gained in previous classes. Instructors will demonstrate drills that can be done outside of class to enhance skill development. Although all classes are not required, taking them in all in sequence is the best method for improving.
Students should possess the following skills before enrolling in a 200-level class:
· Be 3.0 or higher skill level
· Be able to keep score
· Know correct court position when serving, returning, and after scoring
· Be able to get at least 80% of serves in.
· Be able to maintain a 5-6 shot rally with regularity
· Be able to keep at least 50% of third shots in play
· Have a basic understanding of the fundamentals covered in the 100 series including dinking, volleying, third shots, serving, and returning
Pickleball 201
Focus: 3rd/4th/5th shot technique and strategy
This course covers:
1) 3rd shot drops and drives technique and strategy
2) Topspin
3) 4th shot pressure
4) Approaching the kitchen/5th shot strategy
5) Instructor guided modified games with individual constructive critique
Class Duration: 90 minutes
Class Recommended for: Intermediate and up, 3.0+
