Pickleball Rating System: Understanding DUPR

My fellow pickleball enthusiast,

My name is Jillian Braverman, and I am the CEO of DUPR, joined by DUPR’s Founder, Steve Kuhn. We are excited to celebrate the unification of our beloved sport under one rating: DUPR, the Dynamic Universal Pickleball Rating.

Pickleball.com, along with its subsidiaries, including the PPA Tour, PickleballTournaments.com, and PickleballBrackets.com, will officially adopt DUPR as the exclusive Unified Rating System for our sport.

This is a significant moment for pickleball, symbolizing the coming together of the amateur game. Our partnership with Pickleball.com and DUPR will foster innovative experiences for amateur players, enhance ratings, and, most importantly, help grow the game we all cherish.

In less than two years, DUPR has established the most accurate rating system in pickleball and has been recognized as the official rating by the World Pickleball Federation and fifteen other international federations. We want to express our gratitude to our over 600 club partners, representing the largest and most prestigious pickleball leagues, associations, and facilities worldwide. Clubs such as Life Time, Invited Clubs (formerly Club Corp), Spare Time, Sean Bollettieri & The Tennis and Pickleball Club of Newport Beach, Club Pickleball USA, Chicken N Pickle, In-Shape, and many others are the thought leaders in their communities.

We also want to thank our dedicated Executive Directors and Regional Ambassadors, a program that attracted over 500 applications in less than twenty-four hours. You are the grassroots engines that keep your local communities thriving, and we couldn’t do this without your trust and support. Thank you.

Additionally, our thanks go to the tennis community for increasingly embracing pickleball. DUPR has received overwhelming support from major Tennis Federations globally as we welcome these new players to our great sport. We are honored to serve as the gateway for tennis players entering the world of pickleball. Stay tuned for exciting announcements on this front.

Moreover, we appreciate our community for channeling its collective creativity to create innovative paths for everyday recreational players: DUPR Team Leagues powered by MLPlay, DUPR Flex Leagues, the first-ever Collegiate National Championship, The Waterfall (pickleball’s first self-run tournament), and the DUPR Rating Assessment Clinic led by Collin Johns & Sonny Tannan. This is just the beginning of many unique and innovative formats that will make pickleball more enjoyable and fair for everyone, driven by community members passionate about the sport.

Lastly, and most importantly, we want to thank you. You have placed your trust in us, and we are committed to working tirelessly every single day to earn that trust. You deserve a rating that is accurate, transparent, and universal— you deserve a global passport to play.
